Patriot Trading Group Review

Patriot Trading Group Review

Picking a company for all of your gold and precious metals investments can be daunting–there are so many companies out there it can be difficult to know if the company you’re interested in is a good, legitimate company or a “fly-by-night” scam site that will either rip you off by overcharging you and disappearing or they’ll just outright take your money and never supply you with any products.

This is why it is important to do your research on any precious metals company before you pay a dime of your hard-earned money. But, if you have a newer investor or you’ve never utilized precious metals in your investment portfolio, you may not be sure what makes a good precious metals investment company.

Fortunately, we have dealt with many of these companies and have been able to review them honestly. Today we’re going to look at one of the “O.G.” investment companies on the scene, Patriot Trading Group. Patriot Trading Group, also known as All American Gold, has been in business since 1996 and is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. But, are they a reliable precious metals investment company?

Keep reading this review to find out if they are the right investment company for you.

Who is Patriot Trading Group?

Patriot Trading Group has been in business for over three decades, making them one of the older online gold investment companies. They claim to be one of the most reliable and trustworthy gold dealers in Phoenix, Arizona, and that they have sold gold and silver to investors in every state and U.S. territory. If you decide that you want to use Patriot Trading Group as your investment company, you will receive a free consultation with their CEO, Joe Jaquint.

Joe Jaquint is not only the CEO of Patriot Trading Group, but he is also the host of the Patriot Radio News Hour, a news show available across the Phoenix area and provides economic news with an attitude.

Before choosing which company to purchase precious metals from, you should look for some specific red flags in the form of customer reviews and association memberships. Both of these will provide you with facts about any gold investment company you’re considering.

Unfortunately, Patriot Trading Group doesn’t have a large online presence on third-party review sites like TrustPilot or TrustLink. They do have one review on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website, along with an A+ rating. I urge you, however, do not to place too much weight on any BBB ratings as all companies that are on the BBB pay to be there, and their grade is not based on customer reviews.

The lack of online reviews really is a strike against Patriot Trading Group, but it isn’t the only one.

Patriot Trading Group Products

If you’re an investor, you’re likely going to want a company that has a vast catalog of products that are available to you. That ensures that you can choose products that fit both your budget and financial goals.

Patriot Trading Group does not have that vast inventory that investors may be looking for. They are limited to gold and silver and they do not carry platinum or palladium like other precious metals companies, and it doesn’t appear that they even carry gold or silver bars.

I will mention that Patriot Trading Group might have other options if you visit one of their physical locations or give them a call, but as for their website, they only list the following:

  • $10 Liberty Gold Coin
  • $20 Gold St. Gaudens Gold Coin
  • $10 Indian Gold Coin
  • $20 Liberty Gold Coin
  • $5 American Gold Eagle 1/10 ounce Gold Coin
  • $5 Indian Gold Coin
  • $5 Liberty Gold Coin
  • Silver Dime (50) roll
  • Silver Half Dollars (20) roll
  • Silver Quarters (40) roll

Patriot Trading Group does have an interesting program called the “Metals Program”. With this program, you will set a monthly investment amount with a minimum of $100. At the end of the quarter, Patriot Trading Group will send you the shipment of metals that you’ve purchased including an invoice and the value of your shipment. This is something I haven’t seen much of on other precious metals investment sites.

Is Patriot Trading Group a Scam?

The simple answer is that Patriot Trading Group is not a scam. They are a legitimate company that has been around since 1996. They are a small team, but finding out about their experience in the precious metals world has been impossible. It is obvious that they have customers, otherwise, they would not have been in business for decades, however, the lack of customer reviews is something that I find hard to accept.

The Patriot Trading Group website has a lackluster look to it and there seems to be a bigger focus on the radio show and blog of the CEO than there is on selling gold and silver. I could not find any information regarding gold IRA’s or how to begin one, which other precious metals companies really go out of their way to promote.

A positive for Patriot Trading Group, though, is that they list the prices of their products on their webpage. Many other companies do not, so this is a nice touch instead of having to call in to find out the pricing when wanting to make a purchase. They also do a good job of describing each product in the product descriptions, so you will know exactly what it is you’re going to receive.

The Final Verdict on Patriot Trading Group

I have reviewed many precious metals investment companies and I know what I like and don’t like. With over 30 years of experience, I had higher hopes for Patriot Trading Group, especially with their online presence.

Unfortunately, if I were to invest in gold and silver, I would pause before clicking purchase on any products with Patriot Trading Group. With the lack of products, lack of online reviews, a “ho-hum” website, and zero information on gold IRAs, I think that Patriot Trading Group has dropped the ball on what they could be.

This does not mean that I think that they are a bad company, I just think that the first-time investor would do better to check out some other companies first and then make their decision. Focus on companies with more products, more online reviews, and more information on their website and once you’ve got some experience under your belt, you can then consider revisiting Patriot Trading Group for your gold and silver needs.
